Summer Flowers Start to Unfurl

by alan on June 26th, 2010

We moved house in spring and I had a whole (almost) blank canvas of a garden to work with. I spent many hours arranging plants and potting up last years seed grown plants. The unusually cold winter has killed off about 15 plants, some of which I had only bought last autumn and so had never seen them in flower. This includes 4 species of coreopsis, one of my favourite plants. They are originally from the American prairies, so I suppose it’s no surprise that they struggled. The cold weather also delayed the spring growth of the flowers and the summer blooming perennials are only just beginning to flower in serious numbers.

I agree with what you’re saying, but there’s an easier way to do it. I’ll leave another post when I find it.
