Cheap and Cheerful
It’s not just the expensive or traditionally sophisticated plants and flowers that I like to grow. Some of the cheap and popular flowrs are well worth growing in my opinion. Bellis, that are related to the common-daisy spread well and brighten up the garden in mid-spring and continue to flower until the frosts. I like them – especially en-masse in pink, red and white. Unfortunately I only have a picture of the red ones here.

Pansies and Violas are also cheap and traditional, but put on a great display. I was worried about them over the winter as they seemed to be dieing, but then we did have a particularly cold season.
